From Glitter Powder to Finished Roll: Inside SHINHAN’s In-House Line
Every step of a glitter roll—particles, coating, lamination, curing, slitting, sheeting and packing—runs under one roof in Yangju. Here is the walk-through and the checkpoints.
One roof, no hand-offs
Most HTV brands buy coated film and convert it. SHINHAN starts earlier: the glitter layer itself is produced and controlled in-house, then coated, laminated, slit, sheeted and packed on the same site. There is no step where a batch leaves the building and comes back different.
The line, step by step
Incoming inspection: PET carrier, resins, adhesives and glitter powder are checked before release.
Glitter application: particles are sized, sorted and encapsulated in the polyurethane binder on the coating line.
Curing: the top skin is cured so the surface stays closed and the layer bonds to the carrier.
Adhesive lamination: the hot-melt layer is laminated in-line, straight after coating.
Slitting and sheeting: master rolls of 500 mm and 1,000 mm are slit to 12″, 15″ and 20″ or cut to 12 × 12″, 12 × 10″, 12 × 24″ and A4 sheets.
Packing: rolls sealed in PE with desiccant; sheets into sleeves, header cards and cartons.

The patents behind it
The glitter sheet processes and coating equipment are covered by 21 registered patents (27 filed), including Korean patent 10-2462519 on the glitter sheet manufacturing method, registered in October 2022.
