Specialty Glitter HTV: Holographic, Rainbow, Glow and Colour-Changing Films Explained
Four effect films built on the same flake-free glitter construction—what each one does, how to press it and where it sells.
Same construction, different glitter layer
SHINHAN’s specials share the standard glitter build: a 100 µm PET carrier, an encapsulated glitter layer with a cured top skin and an in-line laminated hot-melt adhesive. Only the glitter changes, so press settings stay at 160 °C, 15 seconds, medium pressure, cold peel.
The four effects
Holographic (SH-GL-300): prismatic flash that shifts with the viewing angle—dance costumes, event apparel, retail sheets.
Rainbow (SH-GL-400): a multi-colour flake mix on a single carrier—spirit wear and kids’ graphics.
Glow-in-the-dark (SH-GL-500): charges under daylight or UV and glows in the dark—safety motifs, kids’ nightwear, events.
Colour-changing (SH-GL-600): thermochromic film that changes colour above its activation temperature, or UV photochromic variants—promotional and novelty apparel.
Care and limits
Thermochromic effects fade with repeated high-heat washing; recommend 40 °C on the care label

Specifying a special
Tell us the effect, the base colour, the fabric, the wash cycle, the format and the market. Activation temperature and glow time are specified per program. Physical swatches of the specials are included in the extended swatch book—ask for it with your sample kit.
