What Manufacturing Cricut® Glitter Iron-On Taught Us About Retail-Grade HTV

Until 2022 SHINHAN made Cricut® glitter iron-on—from the glitter layer to the retail pack. Here is what a program at that scale demands, and what it means for your brand.

A retail program is a different job

Selling glitter film to decorators is one job. Manufacturing a retail product for an industry leader—sold through major craft retailers, opened by consumers who have never pressed vinyl before—is another. Until 2022, SHINHAN manufactured Cricut® glitter iron-on end to end: the glitter layer, the coated film, the sheet conversion and the retail packaging that went on the shelf. Names and logos are used here to describe that supply relationship; they imply no endorsement.

Five things the program demanded

  1. Colour that does not drift. A consumer who buys a second pack six months later expects the same shade. Every batch was matched to an approved standard and a retained sample was kept.

  2. Flake-free film. Consumers weed on kitchen tables and press with household irons. Glitter that sheds becomes a complaint, a return and a one-star review—so the glitter layer had to stay closed.

  3. Documents on file. Children’s product testing, substance declarations and origin paperwork travelled with every shipment so the importer could certify the product.

  4. Packaging as part of the product. Header cards, sleeves, barcodes and sheet counts were assembled on the same site, to the brand’s specification, with no outsourced step.

  5. Delivery discipline. Retail replenishment runs on calendars, not on when the film happens to be ready.

What it means for your brand

The line, the QC routine and the packaging cell built for that program are the ones that run today. When a craft retailer, an e-commerce brand or a print-supply house briefs us on a private-label range, we are not learning retail on their program.

  • The same batch checks: colour difference, adhesion, thickness and surface on every run

  • The same retained-sample discipline for reorders

  • The same document file per market: OEKO-TEX® copies, test reports, REACH SVHC declaration, Proposition 65 statement, certificates of origin

  • The same packaging options: 12 × 12″ sheets, multi-packs, header cards, sleeves, UPC/EAN labels

What we do not do

We do not publish program details, artwork or pricing of any customer, past or present, without written permission—the same discretion applies to yours. Detailed references are available under NDA. If you want to see the film first, request the sample kit; it ships within two business days.
